Adventures of BJ and Tracy

Friday Ummm… exhausted doesn’t even cover it as the alarm went off for me at 5am.  I was up most of the night with Bj and he had just been miserable.  I think I had just fallen asleep around 4am and I was not looking forward to the long drive into work.  BUT I WAS looking forward to our camping weekend, the 2 of us, our fur baby, and friends. So, I got home around 3ish and jumped in the shower and finished up my last minute packing… Right as Bj was about finished loading the car, my daughter came out of her room, holding her phone, with an extremely dismayed look on her face.  “What’s wrong?!?” Insert “crisis” situation, family discussion, return email to her casting agent with questions, seeing God’s hand and trusting in His timing, then being sure she had processed fully and was good with the new situation.  Extraverts can do this quickly (sometimes too quickly, but that is for another blog post And on my other blog ) Okay, where were we… ...

Thursday Night Reality set in that we were going camping.  This is where Tracy says, "EEEKKK!!!" We had found some of our camping equipment the previous weekend as that was our originally scheduled camp trip however, Bj could not find the ropes.  The ropes were to hang a tarp over our tent (in case of rain), so he added that to his list of camping goodies he needed to pick up from Walmart.   Just a small amount of early packing.  Bj doesn't pack light! Bj was in charge of the packing list for this camping event as he’s the Boy Scout and knows where everything is in the basement (ha ha!)   He was working that evening at the local high school, so this gave me the evening to try and get my stuff together for the weekend and maybe get the house somewhat in order.  I gave up on the latter but I did manage to make my yummy almond meal bread to take with us.   my yummy, gluten free, almond meal bread As most trips go...

We spent Friday and Saturday night at this great little campground .  The couple that owns it are super sweet! We enjoyed the weekend visiting with our friends, as they were RV camping there but it was a lot of work (for Bj anyway). Blog post recap and review of the campground coming this weekend. Have I mentioned that we love where we live?!?  We are super close to so many awesome places in North Georgia that day trips are a fun part of our lives! We are on vacation this week, so it was a given to take at least 1 day trip.  We decided on Ellijay for this week's day trip.  We had toyed with the idea of then heading over to Chattanooga for the remainder of the day, so I asked if I should pack an overnight bag, just in case.  Baby dog sitting was already arranged compliments of my sweet girl.  So I packed a very light overnight bag (forgetting a few things as always) and off we went. We traveled through Dahlonega, then on west to places that I have no idea of where we were.  We drove through apple orchard land after seeing lots of trees and then we finally arrived in Ellijay. After finding a place to park (free parking I might add!), we ventured over to our first antique store.  We enjoyed not only the vendor's displays, but ...

Our home is located about 8 miles north of a pretty small town in Northeast Georgia.  The last population count was about 3400!  The population might be 3402 now.  We love our town.  It's a friendly place but did I mention it's a pretty small town? One of our challenges is shopping.  Honey and I resort to a lot of online shopping for things we need but can't find at the local walmart (about 15 ish miles from us).  Bless our mail carrier's heart.  She's been such a blessing over the year with our constant stream of packages.  On rainy days, she covers the packages in plastic and leaves them on our front porch.  Not only does she leave the packages, but she attaches the mail!  So on days we receive packages, she saves us the walk to the mailbox.  We take good care of her at Christmas! But even our stellar mail carrier deserves a day off.  When it is her day off, we know it is, especially if we receive packages.  On ...
